Could you help me understand your biasing scheme with this version? I thought I understood the original Milq circuit - but the only channel that looks like that to me is the D channel. I don't get A and B at all! what is the 50 ohm...

Channel (Channel F) and am hoping that you can remember a reasoning for using a
20K LPad instead of a larger value such as 30K or even 50K? As the larger
The events of the last 3 days are incredibly stupid, incredibly interesting and very educational. During the last few days I have discovered some very interesting phenomena, ok might be no a phenomena but a behavior, th...

First, Adrian, Thanks for your feedback on the newer designed 2A3 tubes... very interesting. I've looked at all 3 of these brands before but have not as of yet purchased any (I have a large collection of 45 and 2A3 of various NOS US brands...

Jessie, I just wanted to say that I make my own shorting jacks from the worst possible plastic Radio Shack RCA plugs and small, cheap (1/2 Watt) 100 Ohm resistors, which I solder across the +/- RCA plug connection points and then ...
Romy, you may be right in suggesting that I am "going a little crazy in there" (I consider this a compliment btw)... so for now I decided to try some locally sourced precision metal film resistors (Vishays are not that eas...

Thanks, Adrian, as I underused the Dave Slagle is autoformer guy. I have no needs for autoformers as I need purely restive load. I fact it is not big deal to find switch, it is complicated to find a ready to go attenuator. Mike Percy care many ...

Hi Romy,Minor question with hopefully a simple answer. In the DSET schematic you have a 12.1k resistor in the bias for channels B, C, D and F. I have some nice 12k resistors here (not 12.1k) that I could use in those positions...can you see a problem...

Ok, I completely disassembled one of the Super Milqs and physically injected extra 3 channels. It looks like everything is all right real-estate wise, still I would prefer of course to have more space….
As now the amp is completely shattered ...

Jessie, I think you go overly crazzy in here. The buzzing you got is from your inaccuracy of your “small clips”. A Regular divider at input should not have ant noise, regardless the resistors were used. Do not spend a lot and do not go into the craz...

I'm in touch with a reliable technician who is going to build the Melquiades monoblocks for me. He has suggested some changes which I'd like to comment, he's having trouble to find some of the parts. I hope you can help with this:- Regarding C2 the 2...
I have always been meaning to ask you why a step-up transformer for a cartridge can be acceptable but a transformer elsewhere is considered detrimental.
I do not say that step-up transformer is good but the transformers ...

Well, it looks like I got fucked by the transformer company.that realy sucks !!! I have not talked to them yet ,but even if they agree to replace them it will take at least 6-8 weeks plus international shipping cost , import tax , VAT .Filament tran...

Here is the next more accurate and less abstract version of the new amps input section. The different functioning resistors are not equated to a common denominator bit it is how it will be build initially, during the calibration and testing and I do ...

Like I said, musical bass via the TAP does not thin out at all before my BR bins roll it off; but that's as much as I can say at this point. And (against conventional logic) the TAP certainly does much better bass than any active LS I...

I probably never get tired to mention the stupidity of the folks
who write for Audio publications. This time my hero is Marshall Nack of positive-feedback.
The hero just published a review about the Lamm updated preamp L2:

After another couple of weeks in X/O Hell, I think I at least have the notches where I want them. Yes, I added another notch filter, because the Lowther response is so ragged that using a simpler curve results in bringing down frequencies I need...

Romy, thanks for the info on the chokes in the fullrange Milq.Today I have ordered more Milq parts this time for the power sequencing and bleed down. I decided to go for the relay sequenced bleeders for all four power supplies and figured I would be...

OK, this is useful also, in that you have not noted a "pattern" as you say. My point is closer to your suggestion, that I do change cart --- and sometimes buy new ones, B U T I do not buy other SUT (at least I try to avoid it). I'm currently waiting...

Here are some schematics of what I've done. Sorry for not being the best at drawing. Some of the part choicesare a function of what I could get or what I've got and may not be optimal. The power entry of the PSU box:The PSU box continued:The power tra...

Dominik, in terms of technology advancement, it seems their new driver is better than their other models. But despite this, I’m not sure their transducer engineer knows how to make the drivers to be valuable in terms of sound/tone. I’m saying that n...
Romy Hi sorry to have wandered off topic, I am listening at the moment to an MSB Platinum Dac III, hoiping to get the lavry back for comparison, I believe the MSB is multi bit based on a ladder resistor , with 4 24 bit DAc m...

The “Enjoy His Music” published the old celebrated by many DIYers Herb Reichert’s article about his 300B amp ideas.

I read it before but reading it now, after a few years again...

Chris, at this point it is hard to say anything defiantly. Subjectively it sounds like the Super Milq has slightly less HF extension and transient then the regular Milq, although the output transformer of the HF channel of Super Milq runs higher and ...
In the 6 Channel Version of Super Melquiades

I don't remember exactly how yours were placed, but - while we're on the subject - it is considered good practice to put the magnetic axes of proximate transformers at right angles to one another. It's also good practice to attach dropping resistor...

Yet you change two resistors in the Lavry and we have four pages of gushing prose! I think you enjoy the sound of your own voice too much!...

I see, so I'd better get plain copper trannies from S&B directly, and plug into the EAR's inputs. I'll ask you how to set up loading with some resistors I guess. I said I'm a moron ;-)Regards....

Romy, it sucks, but the different good DHT output tubes seem to want trimming to deliver their best. IMO, the ideal thing would be a quiet way to do this for both channels, not just to match channels but to get the best sound from the particular tub...
